Childbirth Preparation -2 Sessions (Palo Alto) This multiple session class is intended for expectant mothers and their chosen labor support person. Ideally the class should be completed 4-6 weeks prior to their due date. Certified Childbirth Educators or Labor and Delivery Nurses cover stages of labor, hospital procedures, medications, cesareans, birthing options and postpartum recovery using video, lecture and group discussion. Couples will also engage in active practice of comfort techniques such as breathing, positioning and touch. Those couples delivering at El Camino Hospital (Mountain View), Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (Palo Alto), Washington Hospital (Fremont), and Sequoia Hospital (Redwood City) should contact the hospital directly for tour information.
